Paper Garden

I collect paper. Old postage stamps, old books, receipts from foreign countries, paper samples from print shops. These paper birds and vegetables were cut from the colorful pages of a sample booklet from a paper company. I placed them into a background of words cut from an old book, the words forming the ground that supports the image.

Why a garden? The garden has been the subject of my art work for a number of years. This little paper garden grew at night, after work, during the winter. They are a cheerful reminder of summer.
